Barbados Cherry thrives in full sun, blooms many small, pink flowers that are loved by bees and will bear many sweet red fruits. Barbados Cherries are uncommon in traditional supermarkets due to their short shelf life and delicate nature, so take advantage of our climate and grow them yourself! As far as growing fruiting plants in South Florida, Barbados Cherry ranks among the easiest to grow with fruit almost guaranteed! Oleander - Nerium oleander
If you’re looking for a plant that is hardy, has showy flowers, handles full sun, is drought tolerant, is salt tolerant, and handles extreme heat?! Then we have the plant for you! OLEANDER!
There’s a reason why it’s used so commonly here in South Florida; it’s simply a great performer! Oleander thrives in South Florida’s hot summers and is typically used in coastal landscapes, in decorative pots, hedge lines, accent plantings, and more! But beware, Oleander contains toxic sap that can be dangerous if it gets in your eyes, is ingested, or if large amounts get on your skin. Pets and children should avoid direct contact, just to be safe. Make sure to use the proper PPE when trimming Oleanders, suggested gear would be a long-sleeved shirt, eye protection, and gloves. Despite the spooky toxicity, Oleanders can be a great plant for the right space!

Jasmine Minima - Trachelospermum asiaticum
This hardy, perennial vine is typically used in mass plantings as a low-growing groundcover. However, Minima can also be used in pots for spillage/filler, replacement for turf in shaded areas with poor grass growth, or even grown up a trellis! Jasmine Minima blooms small, fragrant white flowers in spring, however due to its short bloom period and small flowers, Minima is utilized more for its foliage.

We grow a colorful mix of perennial flowering vines throughout the year. Vines are great in both the landscape or in decorative pots! We conveniently grow our vines on wood trellis, saving you the time and effort of training a vine to proper form. Our vines can be directly planted and trained to grow out & off of the trellis or simply leave the trellis and trim it to stay small and contained! Vines typically have a fast root system, so if planting in pots, deeper is typically better! If left to grow, most of our vines will want to spread out drastically, so it’s always best to give vines proper and ample space to grow-in. Pergolas, large trellises, fences, lattice, trees, posts, columns, etc. are all great support features for these vines to ultimately thrive on! Tickseed is a hardy native wildflower that blooms profusely most of the year! Several species of Tickseed are found throughout the state of Florida, however Leavenworth’s Tickseed is among the most wide-spread and reliable species for gardens & landscapes! Tickseed is even the official wildflower of Florida and can be commonly found growing throughout the state, especially along roadways and in prairies. Plant Tickseed in full sun for best results and water frequency can be reduced after establishment. Tickseed is a long-lived annual that reaches about 1 1/2 feet tall when mature and will typically self seed after blooming. Butterfly Milkweed - Asclepias tuberosa
This native, warm-season wildflower is a host and pollinator plant loved by Monarch and Queen butterflies! Like any milkweed, this native species is guaranteed to attract our threatened butterflies and makes for an essential addition to a pollinator garden. This milkweed is the true, Butterfly Milkweed, often confused with the non-native/invasive Tropical Milkweed, Asclepias curassavica which has been been detrimental to Monarch populations. Like all native milkweeds, Butterfly Milkweed goes dormant in the winter and will set seed and die-back to the root in Fall/Winter.
